Headline: Robbed
My home was burgularised in november. They stole all my photography I had made all my life, and my back up drives. It was very devastating . I am trying to work as hard as I can as I am going to have another child. I would like to add photography to my site, but I am so depressed to lose my life's work, to look at this site makes me so sad. There were so many pictures I never had a chance to show the world. All I have left is the low resolution copy of these pictures online. All my lenses are destroyed... It is the most bad luck in my life I have ever had. I will post some imgaes from my family for my family.. I hope you enjoy the little images I was able to get up before the robbery. Only 15% of the stick I was processing. The stole my database. Years of my work. To type this now pains me so bad. Some people have asked how they can make a donation. There is no money that can ever replace what was lost. However, if you would like to make a donation to paypalhk@thecenterofthenet.com I am greatful for your concern. I will continue in the future, please forgive me for the interruption.

Headline: Progress...
Lens is fixed. Getting ready to travel to some smaller cities, will be nice to get some fresh scenery with new footage. I hope I will have enough time to feel the place. I have decided to move backwards in time. I will try to add all the footage I have from this year first, and race to get to the previous years. I know that the previous years photos sometimes have a bit more bad and hard realism. As I must cater stock clients first, the newer years are technically more sound... shot with lower iso and less noise, etc... due to the fact of the newer tech. in the body i am now using. Some of what I think are very vivid shots are less technically correct. In this economic crises, no real choice exists. But moving backwards in time if you have patience all will become evident.

Headline: Student destroyed my lens, current status , and more.
Bad news... a 8 year old student destroyed my 15mm fisheye lens while taking class pictures!!! After much fighting I was able to get them to reimburse me for the repair costs, so it should hopefully return back from canon within 3 days. Also in the news there are 2 photography assignments I have submitted work for, one requiring a man who is depressed, which you can find if you search for sad man, and another for the cover of an upcoming book about China. Lets hope they do well. In addition there is an assignment requiring a baby in a stroller that I will be submitting too... In site nes you can see some old collections... Gabors and American homeless are up. My strategy is undecided. Yes I have lots of stock to put up. At the same time I have older stock fromt he last site that needs to be labelled and put up. So I think I will do one old set, and one newer set. The next set will be a little more personal than II prefer to do, a short personal family portrait of Expatriate bluecollar family life in China. I have never really taken pictures of myself... or family that often to show... But I think for my Chinese visitors it would be just as informative as China is to the foreign visitors. I am still facing SEO challenges and hope that tomorrow and this week I can surpass them to get TheLifePhotography.com correctly indexed in google. I have two more SEO strategies to try . The economy is tough and I will do my best to provide a continuous stream of backlogged footage asap until I am completely caught up. The goal will be to be able to move to a from the camera to the site workflow... only after I can catch up. So thank you for coming I hope you enjoy the pictures and stay tuned.

Headline: Contact Problems/SEO stuff
I just realized that my contact page was broken... I fixed it. I guess it would be better to have the contact email viewable on every page. Will do it soon.. Completed the dynamic metatags, working on the seo stuff. Made a mistake with google hopefully they will return soon.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertpeaton/ has a mirror of the images here.. only the image descriptions and keywords contain many errors. If you look at the bottom of the front page underneath the search box you can see a sitemap link.. not an sep site map but a different way to view the categories on the front page... will add a page that lists all comments and make a clear link to the site map called all galleries or something ... running out of space for links so will have to redo all the white box menus.... make em smaller... Working through most of my key worded stock images... would like to get all the backlog of American images that were labelled with descriptions up and then start processing the backlog... stay tuned... and thanks for visiting.

Headline: working...
To my dear friends, family and followers, I am still hard at work. I had just recently moved last weeks to a depressed small factory city on the outskirts of Guangzhou with lots of fresh feelings to be captured. Indeed my back log is getting quite large as I am resizing, keying and uploading old pictures, and not any recent... that does not mean they are not there... However I am comming towards the end of the site design... There are a few bugs as the site might not be pretty at all resolutions or browsers yet.. The category description has the same category name for each section.. working on that... trying to get flickr to open a year account with a paypal account but they only want a credit card number... so that is a headache... but got a month pro donated and filling it up to mirror this site in ordder to increase traffic... will open a pbase site asap... I guess that and flickr are the most popular? And spread the word through a couple of communities related to China...

Then alas I will be able to process new images. Also I know there are many old images not processed from the first 5 years in China.. no keywords.. I may put them up raw and empty untill I have time to edit them. Life in China has not gotten easy as My oldest son requires a bit of special care and the job market has proven to be extremely difficult. This is why UI have had no time to write to you my dear friends. I am fighting as hard as I can to catch up and will contact you as soon as I can get my head above always. As always I thank you all for your kind concern and even remembrance of me and I have not forgotten the world... Just been suppressed.

Headline: Making origress
Alright... ALmost there. Working on installing google sitemap, Just completed top images section... Worked out minor bugs.. I know the forum is a little difficult to navigate... Its on the list. I uploaded 26 new images into the Old Houses, Boy, Temple, Streets section...

They do not show up as new images because they were shot last year and it is set so new images show up by date taken...
I will continue to upload new pictures, and get the google sitemap implementated so it can index the site soon. I know that other browsers may have some problems . Right now everything is working in Mozilla Firefox... When I get a chance I will go over the site with IE and opera to make sure everything is working ok. I know now that there are some issues. Im working on it as fast as I can. Please stay tuned.
